1: 1 1/2 cups white sugar
2: half cup water
3: 6 eggs, separated
4: 1 cup all-purpose flour
5: 1 teaspoon cream of tartar


Step 1: Whip the egg whites till foamy. Add cream of tartar, and retain beating until stiff. In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks until lemon colored.
Step 2: Boil the sugar and water till it reaches the thread stage, 230 – 234 stages F (110 – 112 degrees C). Step 3 : Beat syrup into egg whites. Fold in egg yolks. Fold in flour. Pour batter into an ungreased tube pan.
Step 4: Bake at 350 degrees F (one hundred seventy five degrees C) for 1 hour. Cool.
